Why my Toyota corolla engine light come on after going to gas station?
I scan my cars computer two times but we couldn’t find any things.
Make sure that your car is off at the gas station before you refuel. (In most areas, it is illegal (fire hazard) to have your car running/on while refueling.) If the car is on and your gas cap is removed for refueling, the car may detect a leak in the evaporative/emission control system, and throw a code that triggers the check engine light.
Similarly, If you don’t properly close your gas cap after you refuel, your car may throw a similar leak code. If you don’t hear a few clicks when you turn the gas cap, it may not be tight enough. Sometimes the tether for the gas cap gets in the way of the gas cap making a nice seal (it hides under the cap), so make sure that it is out of the way while tightening the gas cap. Some gas caps get a little beat up, and perhaps yours needs replacing so that may be the only way to get a good seal. (Gas caps should be <$20.)
It is also possible that the particular gas station that you always go to has a problem with their gas. Perhaps they have water in their tank. Perhaps you are purchasing the wrong octane, and your car is noticing it. But I'd look at how you refuel and the quality of your gas cap seal first.
If your check engine light is on, then a code is stored in your car's computer(s), and should be able to be read by an OBD-II scanner. If it is a transient problem (happens once and doesn't reoccur), then the light should turn itself off after about 3-4 restarts without the error code reappearing.
