thats all you need, just plug the cables in and you’re good to go. yeah it will look a lot better than your sd tv it will even look better than a hd tv, depending on the monitor you have. my laptop monitor goes up to 1025 but most will go a lot higher than that. and HD tv’s only go up to 1080 these days
