Trying to install a cold cathode light kit in my PC, but when turning it on it just powers down my computer.?
I bought a cold cathode light kit with dual UV lights for my computer last night. I have an Antec 500W power supply. I installed the kit and powered on my system and when I turned on the light kit my system just powered down. As far as I can tell I should have enough power and the only thing I can think of is that my power supply just down automatically because of an over power issue.
Could this have been because of a faulty light kit inverter or something else?
Does the kit have any type of connection to the motherboard or just exclusively to the power supply?
No, it connected to a molex power connector and was feed directly off the power supply.
Does the kit have any type of connection to the motherboard or just exclusively to the power supply? If it does connect to the motherboard, check to make sure that it is connected to the correct jumpers.
