I have an old Dell Optiplex GX280 with a stock motherboard. I think it has a 2.1 Ghz processor. What kind of?
processor can I put on this motherboard. I just bought a HD camcorder and wish to upgrade so I can edit videos without it being jumpy. I also would like to be able to have a good amount of RAM for video editing. Right now I have 1gb and its not enough. I believe my current motherboard can handle 4gb but would the new processor change any of this? Thanks in advance.
I’m on a budget here and was wondering if these were good processors or not and if they would work with my current system.

I know the 3ghz is better, but im saving up for a macbook pro and just need a quick fix for a year tops.
You can’t use either of those with your motherboard.You’ll have to go to the dell site and find out what type of socket your processor has to be able to match up a processor.
