Computer Power Supply?

I am trying my first PC build. I bought a power supply that arrived today. My motherboard and most everything else arrives tomorrow. I heard some people receive dead power supplies. I wanted to test the power supply to see if it works BEFORE putting everything else together.

There is no way to test proper operation of a power supply without connecting it to a functioning PC.

Advice: don’t create barriers for yourself. Just build the thing and hook up the power. You will just give yourself pointless headaches approaching it any other way.

SONY UX280P PROCESSOR/CPU QUESTION UPGRADE HELP.?

I just recieved a sony ux280p and i would like to put a dual core intel u7700 processor(I checked everything out and it is compatible). My only problem is the processor that comes with it is soldered on. So how can I unsolder it and re-solder my new one? If you can find a guide/pictures or anything that would be great. Thanks

Which is better, Liquid CPU cooling or Air cooling?

I’ve been doing a bit of research, and I can’t seem to find out if Liquid CPU cooling is actually better at cooling the machine than Air cooling.

Liquid systems will keep the system more cool. Think of it this way, why is a car cooled by water and not just air. The system uses a special liquid (not water), so if it spills onto a component, it wont do any harm.
