Computer Memory Upgrade Question?
I have an aging system with the following:
MB = MSI K9N SLI Platinum (bought it in ‘07)
I want to do some upgrades and in particular i wanted to throw on 4gb’s of PC2 6400 240pin- 800mhz.
Someone told me that I needed to have the 64bit version of XP to utilise this memory. Is this true? Any comments and suggestions would be great!
To “see” the entire 4Gb of RAM you need a 64bit version of an operating system. Otherwise,XP 32 bit only “sees” and can only use 3.0 to 3.5Gb of the RAM.
