Where can I get a wifi card for a laptop so that no matter where I go, I get internet?

I want a cheap wifi card that i can put on my laptop so that wherever i go i can always connect to a wifi hotspot. Please give a link to the card… i want a decent card that is cheap. Thanks!

What I believe you’re asking for is a mobile air-card. That links to a mobile telephone carrier’s data network, and lets you access the internet anywhere they have data coverage (which isn’t everywhere in the US, but does cover the populated areas fairly well.) Air Cards are often free initially, but come with fairly high monthly service fees – in the $60/month range.

Pretty much every laptop/notebook/netbook manufactured in the past 5 years comes with a WiFi card built in. That works fine when you’re physically near a WiFi hotspot that is either unsecured or that you have the password to. That’s a very limited area, however, compared to aircards. If you internal WiFi card has failed, you can replace it with an external USB device for around $20.

Listing of American made Network cards and Memory Chips?

I am upgrading a computer. I want to buy USA made SDRAM and Ethernet card. I am having trouble with finding them on the internet. Seems website stores don’t like listing country of manufacture. I want to buy upgrades made in USA. Can you provide me with some brand names and where to find them?
I ended up ordering “Crucial” RAM (Idaho) and US Robotics NIC card. I am told the RAM is made in USA but the NIC card looks the same as the imported ones. I’ll look close up when I get them.

Highly unlikely you will find any. Virtually all network cards and memory chips are made in China.
Even if you find some with the name of an American company on them, the actual working components will almost certainly be made by a Chinese company.
This means you will pay more for a part because they buy it, have their name put on it, then sell it to you.
