What is a hop-up system and how do you adjust it?
The hop-up system i am refering to is on some Air Soft guns.
Hop-up, uses a small rubber collar inside the breech, )which is adjusted with a small wheel&gear arrangement), to place a back-spin on the bb’s as they exit the gun. this has the effect of making them fly farther and streighter, when properly adjusted.
To adjust, take the gun outside where you can shoot at 50 to 100 foot ranges. Shoot a few bb’s, noting their trajectory, then turn the hop-up a little, and shoot a couple more. You will notice the hop-up can make the bb’s appear to rise at one end of it’s settings, and fall at the other end. Adjust the thing untill the bb’s fly as close as possible as level and streight from the barrel, and you’ve got it.
